NADA ALKEBSI, DDS, BDS
FAMILY, COSMETIC & IMPLANT DENTISTRY
Born in Sanaa, the capital of Yemen, I was raised in a culture where women's rights are inferior, and our voices are rarely heard. However, I never let this way of life distract me from my will to succeed. An intellectually curious, enthusiastic learner from my early days of life, anything that required in-depth thinking absorbed me. To accompany this, I had a lifelong drive to help others due to the poverty, illiteracy, and lack of health-based care in my home country.
I received my PDS degree from the University of Science and Technology in 2003 and I worked as a dentist in Yemen for eleven years. For three years I assisted in major oral and maxillofacial surgeries. Minor surgeries included impacted molars and cyst enucleation. The greatest challenge was in seeing the relative lack of care available to those with special needs, whose care was typically limited to extractions under general anesthesia. After gaining approval from my hospital director, I piloted a method for full mouth rehabilitative care, including but not limited to, fillings, root canals, and prosthetics, using portable dental units in the operating room. Being the only program of its kind in Yemen, it brought the hospital wider recognition and increased referrals. Graduated from University of the Pacific as DDS on 2021. Throughout my pursuits as a dental student at The University of the Pacific, I have perfected my ability to deliver superior care to diverse patient groups, build valuable connections, and expand my knowledge and interests. I Like to spend time with my kids on the weekend. We usually hike or explore new cities. |
